Addiction Treatment Admissions Made Simple and Supportive

Starting addiction treatment is a big step — but the process of getting help shouldn’t be confusing or overwhelming. At South Coast Recovery Centre (SCRC), we’ve designed our addiction treatment admissions process to be simple, compassionate, and personalised.

Whether you’re calling for yourself or for a loved one, it all begins with a confidential conversation with one of our trained staff members. We’re here to listen, guide you through the options, and make sure the process is handled with respect, professionalism, and care.

Step 1: The First Call – Confidential, Informative, Human

The first step in our addiction treatment admissions process is often the hardest: reaching out. But once you make that call, we’ll take it from there — with kindness and clarity.

During the initial conversation, we discuss:

  • The type of addiction involved (e.g., alcohol, prescription drugs, street drugs)
  • The length of time the addiction has been present
  • Any history of previous treatment or relapse
  • The presence of co-occurring mental health issues
  • Your or your loved one’s readiness for recovery

This information helps us assess what level of care is needed and estimate the recommended length of treatment. It will also help us ensure that the plan matches the individual’s history and current needs.

Step 2: Agreeing on the Way Forward

Once we have a clear understanding of your situation, we provide our professional recommendation for treatment length and focus. Together, we discuss timelines, goals, and what to expect from the SCRC programme.

If everyone is aligned and ready to proceed:

  • We send out the admission application forms
  • We outline any documents needed, including ID and medical info
  • We confirm the payment details and provide guidance on medical aid options

We are here to answer questions, offer clarity, and support families who may feel uncertain about the next step. Our admissions team ensures no one is rushed — and that every question is answered with honesty and transparency.

Step 3: Medical Aid and Financial Guidance

At SCRC, we understand that treatment is an investment — and we’re here to help you navigate the process with as little stress as possible. We work with most major medical aids, many of which contribute toward 21 days of residential treatment.

Our admissions team will:

  • Help you verify your medical aid benefits
  • Assist with pre-authorisation and supporting documents
  • Clarify what portion of treatment may be covered
  • Offer guidance on any outstanding fees, if applicable

We’ll walk you through this in detail and ensure that you have all the information you need to plan ahead with confidence.

Step 4: Preparing for Admission

Once all the paperwork is complete and financial arrangements confirmed, we proceed with the admission scheduling. Our team provides everything you need to know to prepare for entry, including:

  • What to bring and what to leave at home
  • Travel arrangements or airport pickup (if required)
  • A daily schedule overview
  • Programme expectations

We also help families understand how to stay connected during the early stages of treatment — including check-ins, updates, and participation opportunities if appropriate.
