However, instead of fear and trepidation, we feel comforted by the fresh understanding that there is a God, He does care for us and He will help us.
Your weakness and affliction is okay. We are all weak and we are all struggling in some way. And none of us are strong enough to take on the trials of life all by ourselves, whether you are an addict or not.
When Apostle Paul wrote his second letter to the church of Corinth he illustrated this perfectly…
2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
How wonderful! Not only is it okay to be weak, but we can even boast in our weaknesses because God’s love is perfected in them.
Now, that’s awesome.
